"Labour's announcement is once again too little, too late and in the case of charging people from friendly countries on visa waivers, just plain discriminatory. It is nothing more than a fake imitation and ploy by the Labour party to try and crawl back a scrap of credibility on immigration which they lost over a 13 year period of a Labour government. When will they learn that only by leaving the EU can the UK properly control its borders and implement a fair and ethical migration policy. We should be welcoming tourists and business visitors from non-EU visa waiver countries not charging them. Britain already benefits enormously in revenue from spending and VAT from these visits.
"Labour's extra 1,000 Border staff are not enough. As I said at our Doncaster Annual conference, UKIP has promised 2,500 extra Border staff which can be paid for if we leave the EU by savings from our net contribution to an organisation that through its demands that the UK allow mass migration into our country, has distorted our economy and lowered the wages of British working people."
