UKIP Press Release Sunday 21st December 2014
UKIP Migration spokesman Steven Woolfe responded:
“Even if only 2% of Turkey’s 77 million population came to the UK under this arrangement, it would mean an extra 1.4 million people with no 'quality' controls on the skills required by the UK economy. We don’t need to be stuffed with any more 'Turkey' for Christmas. I am stunned at the ineptitude of Prime Minister Cameron’s government which, as a result of its desperate need for UK membership of the EU, will allow this redistribution of scarce taxpayers’ funds from those in need in the UK to Turkish nationals with no connection to our country.
"What's more, the three old parties are go-ho in favour of Turkish entry to the EU, something that UKIP believes makes no economic sense and is unwise given its radically different culture.”
