No, ‘Steven Says’ is the space on my website where I can trap some of the thoughts and experiences that I have as I go about doing my job as a north west England, UK representative in the European Parliament and as UKIP's prospective parliamentary candidate for the UK constituency of Stockport. It is also a pleasure to make numerous visits around the country to meet fellow UKIP-ers.
What struck me about this experience was what the guys from Phoenix said about their audience wanting to know about this rising UK political party – UKIP. They were surprised in the interview when I pointed out that our immigration policy will not discriminate against Chinese people who want to come to the UK, like the present EU mass migration one does. Under UKIP’s migration policy if a properly qualified English-speaking Chinese doctor wants to come to the UK to practice he will have the same opportunity to do so as a German, English-speaking one under our proposed points based system.
It just goes to show that as UKIP grows as a political force in Britain, we must also ensure that our trading partners overseas understand that we have an outward looking, global trading, welcoming attitude to contacts with countries across the whole world.
