Steven Woolfe UKIP MEP for the North West, and Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Stockport said: “Crime in Stockport is a big problem. From anti-social behavior to violent crime, it’s quite simply not being dealt with fast enough, government cuts have left all police forces feeling the strain and Stockport is no different. We need more bobbies on the beat and a harder line taken on Anti-Social Behavior, as between December 2013 and November 2014 we saw 3,226 crimes of that sort take place, this is simply unacceptable and only officers on the street will help combat this when it occurs.
Woolfe continued “The root of the problem also needs to be addressed, quite simply their isn't enough local community services to keep people off the streets and to stop them being anti-social. Until we treat the cause through providing services that keep offenders off the streets, we will not see a significant drop in this sort of crime. We need to invest in our police services to tackle this astronomical number of anti-social behavior cases.
“The simple fact is, under a Conservative government and a Labour run council nothing has improved for the people of Stockport, they deserve better than this.”
