UKIP are putting up a full slate of council candidates in Stockport and are fielding candidates in Cheadle and Hazel Grove also, Sean Hopkins and Darran Palmer respectively.
Over 20 party members attended the campaign day from around the North West, to canvass, leaflet and talking to local residents in Stockport town centre.
Steven Woolfe commented "UKIP are beginning to make in roads into Stockport and we are the only party challenging the Labour party here. There are some serious concerns among local residents and I am determined to give them the voice they need and fight for the community.
Steven continued "It is important for us in UKIP to get the message across that there is an alternative. Lots of local residents are beginning to realise that if you vote Conservative, you get Labour. UKIP are the only threat to Labour here."
Local UKIP Branch chairman, Tony Moore commented "Over the next 3 months, we in UKIP will be speaking and listening to the public to spread our positive message."
