Local Carlisle and Penrith branch chairman, Mike Owen hosted the meeting. Steven sat along side UKIP's 3 local parliamentary candidates Fiona Mills for Carlisle, John Stanyer for Penrith and Mark Jenkinson for Workington.
Steven spoke for 20 minutes about how the sort of politics that the establishment practices in Westminster have impacted negatively the people in Cumbria 300 miles away.
Steven said "The career politicians in Westminster have forgotten about the people in Cumbria and in the North. We have a political system which favours the people at the top and a economic system dominated by big corporate companies.
Steven continued "If you want to change this, please vote for either Fiona, John or Mark in May. These candidates are a few of our very best and they want change in politics as much as you do. Most importantly, they are local people. They understand your local concerns and if elected, I know they will give a voice back to the people of Cumbria."
